Jacoby Brissett’s contract saga with the Arizona Cardinals is over, agreeing to a reworked deal before the 2026 NFL season.
Brissett, who represented himself as his own agent in negotiations, landed a $10 million raise as the team’s projected starter this coming season. The 33-year-old veteran quarterback admits these negotiations took a toll.
“It’s your livelihood, it’s business and it’s part of this game,” Brissett said on Sunday. “You want to be out there with the guys and that causes another stressor. I’m glad it’s over with.”
Brissett’s new contract with pay him a guaranteed $15.5 million this coming season, according to a report from ESPN. With incentives, he could make up to $21 million in 2026.
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur is also happy to have these contract negotiations in the rearview mirror.
“It’s good. Happy for him. Happy for our team. It was productive. For it to get done now, sooner than rather than later, it’s good,” LaFleur said.
Brissett will begin taking first-team reps during Monday’s training camp practice.
“It felt good to be back out there,” Brissett said after his return to the practice field on Sunday. “Obviously just standing around wasn’t particularly fun, but it was a good first day.”
Brissett started 12 games for the Cardinals in 2025, completing 64.9% of his pass attempts for 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
